Chinappi, up close
The sea, above all: this is how Chinappi introduces itself, from Formia to Rome, with the catch arriving every morning.
A family story
Chinappi comes from a family that has known the sea for generations: the family fishmonger is in Formia. In 2006 Stefano Chinappi brought this story to Rome with Elena, first to Piazza Barberini and, since 2010, to Via Valenziani.
The fish before the menu
The menu follows the day's catch, not the other way round: raw seafood, shellfish, first courses and the fish of the day, with essential preparations. The cellar holds over 200 labels, with a passion for Champagne.
The Sea Calendar
Since 2018 the restaurant has devoted part of its research to seasonality: a different protagonist every month, from salt cod in January to sea bass and sea bream in December.
